Interesting video, with nice images of King of Sweden talking to the Duke of Kent.

Why should the people of those respective countries have a say at all, imo. For the most part (not including Simeon of Bulgaria who sought a successful political life in his homeland) they are technically 'private citizens' or 'resident bodies' and should be able to do attend whatever events they are invited too.

Many of course still have significant public profiles, but nonentheless, they should not be answerable to any political body on the matters of private recreation or socialisation.

It seems to me as being a matter of wanting to control these people for the sake of being difficult.

When people say Catherines fashion sense is boring, is this what they mean she should adopt?

I can only imagine what was going through Philip's mind when he saw her come through the door.

Interesting video indeed. Speaking of curtsey i noticed Charlene did a little one to the Duke of Kent (and received quite a weird glance from the Queen).

The first thing that came to mind was the shoes that Nicholas Kirkwood designed for the Diamond Jubilee.

Nicholas Kirkwood pearly queen shoes « Snap Fashion

Remember he's the one who says Kate's shoes are too boring. Are these the shoe's this woman's wearing? They cost £995, so I hope not.

They are indeed the very same. And entirely vulgar.

A case of too much money, and not enough sense.

Looks like them doesnt it. 995 pounds probably does not seem excessive to Mswati.

A couple of more pictures:
- King Constantine and Queen Anne Marie
- King Letsie III of Lesotho and Queen Mesenate Mohato Seeiso
- Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko with the Queen and Prince Philip (Prince Philip bowing slightly to the Emperor, as per protocol and tradition)

How strange that after we all remarked that we thought the shoes were awful that someone actually turns up in them at the monarchs' luncheon.

It makes me so angry to see this woman turn up in a pair of almost £1,000 shoes when the majority of Swazis live on less than £1 per day. Truly sickening.

I absolutely loved the way Grand Duke Henri greeted the Queen. They really looked pleased to see each other! I hope we can see Queen Margareth and Queen Beatrix greeting the Queen.

And I really appreciate the way foreign monarchs dress accordingly to their traditions. The Empress of Japan looks adorable.

I wonder if he bought a pair for each of his 13 wives.
