She looks wonderful!!
I just hope they remember to lower the microphone to her height after the President gives his welcoming speech on the South Lawn. When she was here the last time at the White House they forgot to do that and all you could see was her hat as she gave her welcoming address. :-) The poor lady...

The Queen does look wonderful. The american media seems to really be playing up the fact that this likely the Queen's final visit to the USA.
Though it's rumoured she's coming to Canada again next year.

Hi,
My husband, my daughter and I are up visiting my family in Richmond, and we went to Capitol Square yesterday to greet Her Majesty and Prince Phillip as they arrived in Richmond for the address to the General Assembly. We had an excellent view as they walked from the Executive Mansion to the Capitol. I got some excellent pictures of Prince Phillip waving at us . The Queen was on the other side of the path greeting VIP's, so most of my pictures show mainly her hat (and a quite stylish one I thought!). It was truly a thrilling experience, and I am so glad I decided to go ahead and go down. I had a lot of fears that the crowd would be so heavy that we wouldn't see anything at all, but we truly got lucky with the spot we choose, off to the side of the steps of the capitol, where most of the crowd had congregated. I will have to wait until I get home Sunday to try to post my pictures, as I am on my mother's computer, and she only has a dialup connection. When I printed them this morning I was really amazed at how well they turned out. If anyone else has a chance to go out and greet the royal couple while they are here, I urge you to do so. It was a long (and sometimes wet) wait, but it was so worth it in the end. It's a memory I'll always cherish.

I wish she had worn a pink outfit with grayish trim, she looks so beautiful in pink IMO. (And I'm sad she may not be back, after all, she's been THE QUEEN my whole life.)

I remember that! It was rather funny (she's even taller than I), but they should have had a lower podium or a step up for her.
Yes, I'd like to know what she was thinking about while riding about with Dick Cheney. What was he saying to make her look like "The Grinch"?

I hate that Dick Cheney was assigned to meeting the Queen in DC and Virginia, but I was consoled (marginally) when I saw the pic of her looking so mad at him!!!!!!! I think she hates him; it's great! :punk: Well, not great for her because she had to sit next to him but great because it shows that she is cool, just like I hoped.

I must say that I really like Her Majesty's outfits;she really looks very nice.So far, she's worn sleek, unfussy, flattering ensembles.Of course her jewelery is magnificent.
And I agree with your assessment about Dick Cheney; I think he just looks so mean and disagreeable!

I saw the new official photograph of HM, and have mixed feelings about it. I'm glad she's wearing my favorite tiara... but she looks rather sad IMO. It's been commented on how much she looks like her mother, which might make HM (and me) rather sad. Or perhaps it's just that the job is weighing on her.

She doesn't look sad to me. She looks pensive, which is different. Besides, I don't think I've seen many formal photos/paintings of royalty with them smiling.

"You're a dumb***!" springs to mind! I'm also curoious to know more about her brooch. It's very unusual looking, not one I've ever seen before. Anybody know anything about it?
I usually watch the Kentucky Derby every year but an extra excited that the Queen will be there this year. I hope there is much focus on her during the tv broadcast!

Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, right, arrive in Lexington, Kentucky Friday May 4, 2007. The Royal couple were met by William Farish, left, the former U.S. ambassador to Britain and his wife Sarah. Famed horse racing track Churchill Downs, accustomed to treating athletes, actors and other celebrities like royalty, was relishing the chance to host Queen Elizabeth II as she attends her first Kentucky Derby Saturday

I thought she'd been to the Derby before.........or at least came over to look at horses. Kentucky.com | 05/05/2007 | Past royal visits
I wonder if she'll place a wager. Is she allowed to gamble?
