Those pics from 2005 are new to me. I like to see them in their school uniforms. I think (please correct me if I am wrong, as I quite easily mistranslate the Spanish articles) they go to an English School in Madrid where Elena teaches a class. I forgot the name of the school, however. Do you suppose that Leonor and Sofia will attend the same school since they live in Madrid also?

Watching these pictures, I realized how much the Marichalar children had grown up since 2005! They are so big now...Froilán is a little man by now, and Victoria Federika is so tall...WOW! How time is flying. And the nex year we'll have little Infanta Sofía walking , becoming from baby to a toddler...

The Marichalar siblings used to attend the school where Infanta Elena teaches English. They are now too old for the school. You can see pics of Infanta Elena with her fellow teachers at Micos - Mi primer cole under the "Equipo Docente" tab towards the bottom of the page.

I have a weakness for Victoria Fredrica, for this very big and shy little girl. I'm found of this melting of yet baby little girl with her socks and this quiet young an elegant little girl who is matching up ever her fetiche socks with her dress or outfits and so on- may be if it's not her who is doing this refined matching)
In may opinion she is is very imaginative, it's a dreaming little girl and sa she is very sensible we can think that she can have in the futur activities in the artistic fields, i don't which.

I hope that we see some Victoria's photo for her birthday, but I believe that she and her brother will begin the school this week.

Noticias breves de actualidad
Victoria Federica expires 7 years
Victoria Federica, the daughter of the Dukes of Lugo, celebrates today her seventh birthday. The small Victoria to which lately we have seen very shy, so much in the baptism of her cousin, the infanta Sofía, like in the yacht 'Fortune', is growing and turning into the whole 'miss'. Victoria will celebrate this so special day together with her parents and her brother Froilán.

Here you can find a gallery of pictures of Victoria during the years with her famous 'socks'. Apperently when she was a baby she took off her socks and put it in her mouth, which is why her parents decided to give her a clean one to play with. Sweet Victoria is still unable to seperate herself from them though So cute

The sock thing is still sort of cute, but I can only imagine the she gets teased quite a bit at school because of it. Thanks for the link princess_leonor.

Sorry...But I don't think it is cute. If I see a pupil of mine sucking a sock at the age Victoria Federika does it, I should speak with her parents to see if she has any problem at home. Sucking things repeteadly at her age is a bad symptom if you ask any psychologist expert in children..Freudian or not. The expression of his face is not good, either.
She is very cute and when she smiles, she could be really beatiful. I hope that with the time, "the sock thing" would go away...
But speaking of something more funny: did you notic that in one f the pics Froilan is picking his nose?
Vanesa.

Last name?
I have a question - what is the last name of Elena's children? Is it the usual spanish combination of father's & mother's name - in this case Marichalar Borbon or do they use the title's name of their parents - Lugo - eg as Princes William and Harry (Wales) do?

you are correct. the kids' names are Felipe Juan Froilan and Victoria Federica de Marichalar de Borbon (the de is an actual part of the surnames).
and if i remember correctly too, their surnames are not de Marichalar y de Borbon because Jaime does not come from another royal family.

And children are supposed to have some title? I know that formally not. But REALLY are they outside the Royal Family? I find it unjuste.
Vanesa.
