The Duke of York, Patron, World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, this morning received His Excellency Mr Gao Yunlong (Chairman, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce) at the Excel Centre, Royal Victoria Dock, London E16.

His Royal Highness, Patron, afterwards officially opened the World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention at the Excel Centre.

The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, Royal Irish Regiment, this afternoon received Lieutenant Colonel Paul Walkley upon relinquishing his appointment as Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Simon Baxter upon assuming the appointment.

His Royal Highness, Patron, World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention, this evening held a Dinner at Buckingham Palace.
 
Is it unreasonable to ask who pays for the pitch@palace events, both UK based and overseas, and the government entity which shoulders the transport costs and security?
 
Pitch@Palace is funded from the same source as the Duke of Edinburgh's Awards Scheme, Save the Children and the other charitable causes of the BRF, other than those of the Wales branch of the family - the Queen, the Sovereign Grant, the Metropolitan Police and the royal transport costs.

The Duke of York, Patron, the Institution of Civil Engineers, this morning visited the Civil Engineering building, University of Cambridge, 7a JJ Thompson Avenue, Cambridge, and was received by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire (Mrs Julie Spence).

His Royal Highness afterwards visited the Peacock Centre, Brookfields Campus, Mill Road, Cambridge.

The Duke of York, Patron, this afternoon visited the Entrepreneurship Centre, Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, Trumpington Street, Cambridge.

His Royal Highness later visited Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge, 47 Bateman Street, Cambridge.

His Royal Highness this afternoon attended a Luncheon given by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Sa-Pathum Palace.

The Duke of York this evening attended a Dinner given by Dato’ Sri Aswin Techajareonvikul (Chief Executive Officer, Berli Jucker Public Company Limited) at the St Regis Bangkok, 159 Rajadamri Road, Bangkok.

This is one of the reasons I like to have two sources as sometimes this happens.

Simples. The point of the article is to make money by taking advantage of recent events and revived interest in Randy Andy to sell newspapers (or newspaper advertising - however it works in the digital age) by dredging up and printing an old story about something that was ostensibly perfectly legal if perhaps a bit iffy.

Recent reporting has blurred the lines between what is truly illegal activity and actions that, depending on your own point of view, are simply inappropriate/sleazy/immoral. And of course there are other issues like holding a person guilty by association.

Andrew's only real "crimes" may be a highly developed sense of entitlement, arrogance, a lack of empathy, a tendency to ignore servants or other people he deems unworthy of his attention, a fondness for liaisons with young women, a tendency to not commit to memory (or to quickly forget) those liaisons when they are with young women in the "unworthy of my attention" category, and a tendency to terminological inexactitude about the foregoing if he deems it warranted.

Looks like Andrew’s Pitch @ the Palace has moved.
I’m not sure if Andrew is still involved w/ his Pitch@the palace scheme & also I’m not sure that it’s appropriately named since there doesn’t seem to be any ‘palace’ involved anymore.
If Andrew shows up at its’ events in China & the Middle East, then we’ll know that he’s still a part of the organization I suppose.
 
I'm not surprised. This was one genuinely good initiative from Andrew so it'll be a shame if it has to stop completely. Perhaps it could be changed to just "Pitch" and obviously run under someone different?
 
The last that I've heard is that it has been renamed Pitch and will be headed up by Amanda Thirsk, Andrew's former private secretary, as CEO.

According to the following article from December, Pitch@Palace CIC was being wound up, whereas the directors of Pitch@Palace Global wanted the Duke of York to step away.

Pitch@Palace CIC, which is based in Buckingham Palace, is being wound up after trustees concluded it had no future in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

But the Duke is refusing to give up its sister company Pitch@Palace Global, prompting three of its directors to offer their resignations.

While Pitch@Palace CIC is a non-profit-making company and is controlled by the Prince Andrew Charitable Trust, the overseas arm Pitch@Palace Global is owned by the Duke himself and was set up to make profits by brokering deals between tech start-ups and wealthy investors.

The companies had also raised concerns that the Duke was mixing his charitable work with his business interests. Auditors advised the Duke and his team that Pitch@Palace Global, established to earn money from tech investments abroad, was too closely linked to Pitch@Palace CIC.

This event was even recorded in the CC which simply says 'The Duke of York was present'. The same wording is used for the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester - who were also present.

Other than recording his birthday and an event where someone else represented him this is the first time he has appeared in the CC since his interview.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were present.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent were represented by Brigadier Harry Nickerson.

Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy was represented by Mrs Diane Duke.
