At least they'll have a lead in to the day after Pippa's wedding article. "Andrew snubs Pippa's Nuptials" or something similar.

Wonder how many pints of ale it took to come up with that story? If the photographers were to leave the Daily Fail, it'd put a lot of readers out of their misery as the publication would soon bite the dust.

Was Prince Andrew actually linked with Catherine Oxenberg? I know that she claimed that he practically proposed to her the night of Charles' and Diana's wedding ball, but I've never heard it confirmed that they had any kind of relationship.

It would be funny, though. Both Andrew and Prince Albert of Monaco were romantically linked to both Angie Everhart and Catherine Oxenberg. If this latest claim has merit they will also both now be linked to Kylie. A trifecta!

She said that when she was 18, she and Andrew were in a courtship, and that he was always sending her roses. She said he proposed but she turned him down for two reasons 1. She was too young to marry 2. She wanted to be an actress and she wasn't willing to give that up.

The Duke of York attended an Anzac Day dawn service and laid a wreath at the New Zealand War Memorial at Hyde Park Corner in London today, April 25.

The annual event marks the anniversary of Australia and New Zealand first seeing military action during the First World War.

This role used to be done by the Duke of Kent. I wonder if it is one Andrew is going to take up all the time now as the only royal in his generation who actually saw service in a war zone (I know Charles served but not in a war zone).

It may even be that he will take over from the Duke of Kent, in time, with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Quite possible. Though Tim Lawrence is vice chairman already. We often see him at these as well. But I guess since he doesn't get much recognition as he is married to a princess, they may replace the Duke of Kent with an official royal patron.

There is a difference between training, serving and actually being in an active zone. Like his father, though Willoam served in the RAF, he was stationed at home doing search and rescue. For obvious safety reasons for sure. Not saying their service is any less important, it isn't, simply different.

Both kents served in Hong Kong and Cyprus in peace keeping. Of the younger generation Andrew in the Falklahds. Tim has served on many NATO ships and was involved in gun patrol boats in Northern Ireland. The Earl of Ulster served in military intelligence in Kosovo and Iraq. Harry of course in Afghanistan.

On April 27 the Duke of York attended the Press Club Awards in London. The Londoner of the Year award went to Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of York accepted on her behalf and used the opportunity to take a stand for press freedom:

Article from the Daily Mail about The Duke of York and his future role alongside HM. There's rehashing of sensationalist stuff, of course. We know enough here to take DM article with a grain of salt, but I thought that it was an interesting article.

I really think the DM is just using it as an excuse to reignite the Charles v Andrew fight again.
The BBC's Nick Whitchell said it was more likely Charles and Anne will be seen with the Queen in future

That could very well be. They've chosen a story line and are sticking to it: Good prince/Bad prince.

I don't think Charles will fill that role he has his own full agenda. I do see Andrew taking on some work with the Queen along with other family members

Interestingly, there was much on YouTube yesterday about Prince Andrew's angry rebuttal of any quarreling between himself and Charles and an emphatic denial that Charles has ever treated his daughters as anything other than loved nieces. I am interested at the timing.

A casual look at the diaries of both Charles and Anne would show that as an exercise in futility. I think we will see more of the Cambridge's, Harry, Andrew, Edward and Sophie.

I think we will also see a slight shuffling of duties between those family members, and largely dependent on who would be the most "appropriate" member to accompany HM. We may also see a bit more of Beatrice and Eugenie occasionally accompanying their grandmother as they already have.

The Duke of York will take a stroll down memory lane when he revisits his old school during a trip to Moray today.

Pupils at Gordonstoun will show Prince Andrew around its sprawling grounds on the outskirts of Lossiemouth.

The public school has educated generations of royals, including his older brother Charles.

The Duke of York first attended there in 1973, when he was just 13.

Gordonstoun principal, Lisa Kerr, said that the school’s youngsters had lined up a host of activities to keep their special guest amused.

The comments are absolutely scathing with many not even understanding what he is trying to do - thinking he is trying the trademark BP itself rather than an organisation.

That's because the title of the article is implying exactly that - that Pr. Andrew is trying to trademark the name of the palace. The DM is deliberately trying to create that impression.
