I cannot find a thread concerning Princess Anne's patronages of military sections.
It always irritates me when seeing her in uniform, she never had training or did she?
Whenever I see a photo it gives me the impression of a little girl wanting to impress Daddy she is tough, too :D though she has 3 brothers who all went through some military education and are closer, she needs to show she can wear a uniform aswell.
Can somebody tell when she started this? Thank you.

I can't provide a date as to when she began wearing the uniforms of her honorary military appointments, but I can give some information as to why she and other non-veteran members of the BRF can and do wear uniforms.? (This is an older article from the Queen Mother's funeral in 2002, but it more or less provides the information as to why she can wear them.)

Other times, royals collect military ranks and uniforms as honorifics. Princess Anne didn’t serve in the military, but she can wear military trousers because she is an honorary rear admiral. In addition to his earned military ranks, Prince Charles is the honorary colonel in chief of 17 regiments of the armed services.Royals have donned military dress at state occasions since the 19th century. Princess Anne’s military trousers were a departure from the norm, however. Though the queen mum’s funeral marked the second time Princess Anne has made the feminist gesture, she reportedly is the first royal woman to wear military attire in public since Queen Elizabeth I—in 1588. For that occasion, in which the queen rallied British troops at Tilbury to battle the Spanish, she wore a suit of armor.

Thanks. I knew they have honorary titles, but still think Ann looks funny with it,
but she seems to like it so why not:D

I mean I guess in the same way her younger brother Edward looks funny in his, considering no one in the current RF except for Andrew and Henry have actively served their country.

To me? No, I think and explained why Ann makes me laugh any time she puts on some uniform.
Edward and Charles both had some military training aswell which makes it easier to accept, eve HM served during the war. But let's Ann enjoy it, though I do not consider it a a feminstis's behaviour like others stated before.

I'm assuming you mean those who have seen combat, so you should obviously include Philip. And serving your country in the military doesn't have to mean actual fighting; William and Charles and the Queen have all served honourably, not to mention the Gloucesters and Kents.

Princess Anne today 5 February in her role as Patron of The Royal College of Midwives, visited the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust's Rotherham Hospital's maternity unit in Yorkshire. While there HRH toured the facility, met with midwives & signed the visitors book.

Exclusive: The Queen is set to appoint the Princess Royal as captain-general of the Royal Marines, replacing the Duke of Sussex. Princess Anne is in line to become the first woman to hold the honorary role when Prince Harry steps down.

Excellent news! Princess Anne is the best choice & she'll carry out that role brilliantly.

I'm delighted that the ever reliable and diligent Princess Royal is to fill the gap created by others..
The Marines will appreciate her leadership.

Amazing news! If true she'd be the first woman to be Captain-General, Anne's own way of bringing about equality lol.

Definitely a safe, trusted, pair of hands.

There isn't a safer pair of hands nor a sounder head in the BRF. If true I cannot wait to see their response.
