I agree with you 100%.

French is not difficult at all if one is raised bi- or tri-lingual like His Majesty is,it is just another language, nada mas.

French is a difficult language. Hats off to the King for this wonderful and meaningful speech.
For those who moan, as usual, about a supposed lack of pump or glitter during this visit (budget, really ?), i would say that, for once, it shows that a State Visit is way more than a sartorial parade but all about links, and friendship, between two countries. I would give any banquet with tiaras in the world for such moving and heartful speech. Bravo !

French is not really a "difficult language" for speakers of another Romance language like Spanish. The pronunciation might be tricky though.

BTW, King Felipe is a descendant of Louis XIV and is currently 5th in line to throne of France according to those who do not recognize the validity of the Treaty of Utrecht.

I wonder how many of Letizia's outfits from this state visit were in her selection for the postponed visit from march time. Or has she had a new wardrobe made for this june visit. I imagine last nights dinner outfit was what she had been planning to wear back in march.

I don't think many of the outfits planned for the earlier trip would have been used now. It is materially warmer now, and Letizia has worn a lot of sleeveless or white and light outfits on the trip that would have been unsuitable for an early spring trip.

The King and Queen say goodbay to Paris "overwhelmed" by the reception
Felipe VI emphasizes on the third and final day the excellent Spanish-French relationship.

"We are deeply honored, and even overwhelmed". Felipe VI has added these words to his last official speech that ended this Thursday his three-days visit to Paris, the first State Visit of his reign. The President of the Republic, the French Government and the Mayor of Paris have displayed around King Felipe and Queen Letizia exceptional events that have made this journey "The Visit", as described on Tuesday by President François Hollande.

"It is Spain. They are the King and Queen of Spain"
a spokesman for Hollande answered when asked why this time, in a extraordinary initiative, the visiting Head of State paraded down the Champs Elysees or intervened on the plenary at the National Assembly.

Relationship between France and Spain are at one of the best moments of its history. And the fact that the Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, and the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, were born in Spain contributes to the personal relations between the leaderships of the two states being more fluid and friendly.

Pictures from today: FRA: King Felipe Of Spain and Queen Letizia Of Spain On Official Visit In France : Day 3
They went to see the exhibition about the Lumière brothers The invention of cinema, a private event that was not on the schedule.

After visiting the exhibition, they posed for a photo with the escort from the French Gendarmerie that has accompanied them during the visit. Great pics, this kind of details is what I like the most about this couple ;)

After reading this article I was just reminded that it has been their first official state visit in their reign! How silly of me!

Were the Count and Countess of Paris invited to the state banquet?
