Great to see Letizia finally doing a sports event, she needs to do more of this kind of event, social or leasure events including in her 'serious' work.
She needs to promote herself more as 'Working Queen' like for example Rania does, show more personality instead of going through the motions 2 times a week.
The girls are teenagers now, Letizia needs to become more socially active and follow Queen Sofia in that respect.

I do not think Sofia is an example of being very socially active. In their social causes Letizia's agenda is not very different from what Sofia's agenda was like, if Sofía could have been freer in recent years, it is because with Juan Carlos' illnesses and abdication her institutional agenda was reduced.
And Sofia's leisure activities were limited for decades to filling her official agenda of classical music concerts, because that was what she liked. Felipe and Letizia have a much more active and normal leisure life, probably they do not see the need to convert their personal preferences into an official agenda.

I think Felipe is being promoted as being everywhere at the same time, pictures are being released from his work life, not so with Letizia. She surfaces for 2 odd events per week, then she vanishes again. We all assume that she works behind the scenes, why not show it. She is Queen for over 4 years now, but does not really have much of a profile of her own, compared to her peers.
I think that Sofia does a lot of 'social' events, opera is fine, even more so since she likes it, it's authentic. Zoo, sports events, something like this is completely missing in Letizia's agenda, maybe it's considered as fluffy or not serious enough, but I disagree. For example the basketball event, it's something people can relate to, supporting women sports to boot. There should be much more of this kind.
At some point Letizia has to get rid of the 9 to 5 royal image, who only shows up at institutional events, going through the motions because it is her duty, and than quickly returning to her beloved private life that is nobody's business. The Mallorca event on the weekend was a good step in the right direction. IMO of course.

They are more than accustomed to being treated with informal you, because the Spaniards are quite informal, and the use of formal you, except maybe for people who work in public service, is increasingly in disuse. Probably many people with whom they meet or whom they greet in events forget to use formal you or Majesty.
In the video there is nothing strange. After finishing her words, the queen visit the team in the dressing room, and the atmosphere was totally informal and relaxed... and queen Letizia does not use formal you in her words.

Queen Letizia, as a FAO Special Ambassador for Nutrition, was one of the keynote speakers at World Food Day (the other one was King Letsie III of Lesotho).
Later she'll be at the opening of an exhibit on World Food Day and take part in a panel on Zero Hunger
Quote:
FAO Goodwill Ambassadors for Nutrition, the King of Lesotho and Queen Letizia of Spain will be joined by the UN Rome-based Agency Heads and other key players in the effort to achieve Zero Hunger at the global World Food Day ceremony held at FAO Headquarters in Rome on 16 October.
Following the WFD ceremony, Heads of State, ministers and high-level representatives from the private sector and civil society will participate in two high-level panels on Zero Hunger challenges and solutions. Panellists will discuss climate change, conflict, migration, poverty and the double burden of hunger and obesity, as well as ways to adapt to or overcome these challenges through nutrition education, improved food systems, social protection, agroecology, the preservation of biodiversity, the empowerment of family farmers and more.
