And a kiss between the new king and queen, a kiss and hug for Juan Carlos from the new king, Queen Letizia and Queen Sofia. Queen Letizia seems much more relaxed now and is smiling. The infantas seem overwhelmed (and who can blame them).

Overwhelming indeed for the little girls - gosh, if they were ten years older they'd still be very young. But a very happy and joyful occasion, most memorable.
Thank you, Spain :)

I like that they really focused on Felipe. Sometimes during this events (especially those in full regalia) women kind of overshadow their husbands. Probably because people like him more, probably because of the more sober attire, but Letizia definitely let him shine today. You can see as she's always a step behind, even when they went out on the balcony.

But at parlament she was mentioned and received applause and it is her husbands day after all.
Large crowds along the route IMO, 10 rows or more in most areas (and it is a long route!). Nice to see so much enthousiasm and so many Spanish flags. Unlike the correspondant of 'The Times' I didn't see any republican flags on TVE. Madrid is a beautiful city btw.

Very wise, letting him shine at this important day......
her days are coming now
