I saw it on TVE Internacional. Lots of red-yellow-purple republican flags, as well blue-with-yellow-cross Asturian flags and banners with "Republica Asturiana", drums, boos and whistles.
The cameras of TVE trying to escape this by choosing "positive" angles and zooming in on guests (and zooming out the protests). But even balconies facing the square sported republican flags.
Of course the royal family stoïcally saw nothing. Very professional. I assume they are used to it.

Republican demonstrations are a classic of every year. As it is your comment on it

Yes. But I also saw monarchical demonstrations.

It is factual. It is there. It is not fake news or did happen in Lala-land.
The thread gives the idea the graciously and meticulously dressed royal family was welcomed with oohs and aahs in a warm and comfy bath, people almost fainted by so much admiration in Oviedo.

But Duc, nobody did that! Actually, if you pay attention, your comment was the first one to come on this event, so you left virtually zero time for ohhhs and ahhs and faintings and whatever!
Honestly, almost all we are old members and protests regarding the SRF, here and in other events across the country, will sure hardly come by surprise unless someone is fairly new to royal watching. Along with the people clapping anywhere, as could be easly suspedted from a country where monarchy-republic polls have fluctuated around 50-50 for decades now.
But hey, your commitment to "let the truth be known" is formidable, let's not allow blind people to enjoy a no-drama royal watching. Quick, bring light to them before they foolishly go and happily comment on a royal bling!

Leonor did a great speech again. She was a bit nervous at the beginning but she sounded confident from the middle towards the end. Is it me or her speeches are getting shorter?

I do not think so. This year's speech was almost 4 minutes, last year's just over 3 minutes and the first speech was more than 4 minutes.

Leonor was wonderful and her parents, sister and 2 grandmothers in the audience must have been so proud.

She has come quite a long way from the little girl reading the Constitution. Those UWC parties are clearly paying off.
Just kidding. Very lovely, thoughtful, and princess-y, as always.
