I had not seen it before, but apparently, TVE has a livestream for the ceremony with an English translator - in case anybody wants to follow
Here is the link:
Premios Princesa de Asturias 2017, en directo - RTVE.es
(Just click to the "Ceremonia de entrega (inglés)" link on the right sidebar)

Felipe and Letizia should do more of these sorts of events. Letizia in particular looks happy and, in a few photos, almost relaxed. Felipe still looks tired but he also seems to be having a good time and you can see that he has facial expressions other than 'polite interest.'
This also would have been a perfect day to involve the girls, or at least Leonor. She wouldn't have had to miss school, the day was low key, she's no longer a young child and she is, after all, the Princess of Asturias.

Today true, Leonor would not have had to miss school. But the couple have been in Asturius since at least Thursday. Its four hours from Madrid where Leonor goes to school. So while she would not have had school today, she certainly would have Thursday and Friday unless a school holiday.

She's 12 next week, I guess when she turns 14 the latest there will be calls to include her in one or the other capacity in her own award events.
Visiting the village is one, or sitting with Sofia sr on the balcony during the ceremony another.
It will be more and more difficult to deal with both sisters equally in public.

She could have been driven up Friday afternoon/evening for at least part of the event on Saturday and then returned home with her parents. I wasn't suggesting she should have been present the whole three days.

I thought Leonor would made her debut at the Awards this year, since she got her order and visited Asturias. Maybe it's to early yet.
