US first lady Michelle Obama and Queen Letizia will take tea and visit the Kitchen Garden of the White House

On Wednesday 16 in the morning, Queen Letizia will visit the National Cancer Institute.

King Felipe will attend a business breakfast at the Spanish embassy and he will attend a a seminar on transatlantic relations, organized by the Wilson Center and the Real Instituto Elcano, which will end with a lunch.

In afternoon King Felipe and Queen Letizia will preside at Georgetown University, the First Meeting of Spanish scientists in the US. Then there will be a dinner hosted by the university in honor of the King and Queen.

I think Obama will not waste much time. The encounter will be short & sweet, similar to WA & Maxima. As Head of Government & Head of State he gives precedence to guests with either political power or strong strategic or diplomatic value to the US.

i feel speechless and borderline annoyed at the fact that felipe and barack go on a meeting together and letizia and michelle have their own meeting, apart from the men. what century do we live in? why is it that letizia and michelle need to be separate and have their own "women" meeting and why can't they can't all discuss together?

let me explain myself:
when maxima and WA visited the USA, maxima sat with WA and barack to discuss political matters

in another visit to the white house, WA and maxima also met with both barack and michelle together.

i wonder why the spanish court has such a retrograde view on protocol...

Seriously, I don't see much political importance here. Obama has the political power but will be gone soon, I am sure the meeting was quite short, he will not waste his time with a head of state from a constitutional monarchy, only for those who have political power like him.
