"King Felipe and Queen Letizia express their gratitude to the pharmacists for their work in the COVID19 crisis in a videoconference held today 13 May with Jesús Aguilar president of the General Council of @Farmaceuticos_ maximum representative body for 74,000 pharmacists, of whom 70% are women"

Most of the video footage of these activities are days late and sometimes often up to a week if were lucky to even get one.

Though I'ma bit surprised they have gone ignored by the media.

I am surprised how bad the website casareal.es is, very often it takes ages to open or there is no connection to a specific content.

Usually there is an agenda prevista so the press knows upfront where to be and can arrange their coverage. This is not the case since Corona and the pictures are very boring, King & Queen sitting in front of a screen.

It was crashing and off line quite a bit earlier this year ,it needs some work for the 21st century.

RTVE, the public television, has been controlled for months by Podemos, so it is neither new nor strange that they hide the Head of State, if it is not to talk about his father's controversies.

The Casa Real YouTube channel normally has videos from the EFE Agency, which is also controlled by the government. Since the arrival of PSOE and Podemos, the videos have taken a long time to appear. Also the web server is controlled by the government.

The Spanish government is mismanaging the crisis, and the attitude of some media is more to protect the government than to report transparently. Some private media received financial aid at the start of the crisis, and will probably need more public aid ... so they must protect their money.

Spain is in a state of alarm, the government has special powers, and the King's room for maneuver is more limited. And a government with a lot of ego and that increasingly has a worse image, does not want the Head of State to overshadow them.

In Portugal the situation is not very different. Some private media have also received (or will receive) financial aid from the state and so have been lenient with the government.
It is not enough that we are experiencing a pandemic we are still witnessing a crisis of press freedom... but these are other matters...

Minute of silence for the victims of Covid19

The minutes silence seems to have taken part in a different area of the Zarzuela complex, normally we only see the front facade.

It was nice to see the family and officials out for the minutes silence. Leonor seems to have shot up in quarantine and seems to be a similar height to her sister now. Someone in another thread mentioned that Leonor seemed unwell, and I do agree that she seemed rather tired and aloof. I hope she's alright given everything that's going on, but perhaps it was just an early start (we are all used to later mornings now in isolation!) as I'm inclined to think that if Leonor was showing symptoms of COVID-19, Felipe and Letizia would have kept her back at the palace.

Eight young Spanish talents from research, technology, business, culture and social action have exposed today, in an open dialogue with the Kings, how they believe that the COVID19 pandemic is affecting Spanish society and what their vision is Of future
