King Felipe, Queen Letizia and Family, General News, Part 2: September 2017 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Felipe is so tall! Just looking at the pictures of him with Rafa and Carlito: they're both over 6 ft, but Felipe makes them both look very small!

Felipe VI and Letizia sent a message to Chanel, Spain's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest.
"From Their Majesties the King and Queen, congratulations on your fantastic performance at Eurovision. We want also convey our congratulations to the team that accompanied you and thank you for having represented Spain so well and for making us feel so proud. With a big hug, Felipe and Letizia"

Does anybody know why King Felipe went alone to Oslo celebrations for Princess Ingrid's birthday? Why didn't Leonor go either?

The king and queen and their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, have attended this afternoon in Madrid the flamenco show De Sherezade, by bailaora María Pagés, winner of the 2022 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts together with cantaora Carmen Linares.

Leonor looks like Elisabeth in those photos!

I guess this this is the Spanish version of a photocall, a good idea to do it that way instead of simple posing. Let's see if Leonor will do some events or participate since she has a long summer break now.

I don't it is. There yearly summer photo call is normally early August during the short Mallorca visit before they leave for their real holiday.

The Princess of Asturias appears with wounds in her hand on her first visit to Girona

During this first official visit to Girona, Princess Leonor was surprised to have different wounds on her left hand.
SEMANA has contacted the Royal House to inquire about what has happened to Princess Leonor. At the moment, they have not been able to give an answer about what could have happened to the princess at her hand. They were unaware that she had wounds on her hand.

Too much hand sanitizer or frequent hand washing perhaps because of Covid precautions? In that case, both hands should have been equally affected though.

It could be also a burning accident although the wounds don't look like burns to me.

No. The fact that it is her knuckles and the first layer of the skin is broken would suggest she either fell or was participating in a rugged activity like rock climbing.

:previous: Princess Leonor's hand injury presents very much like a burn. One of the articles commented that it may be a burn and I'm going to agree. A few of the pictures also show a white substance covering the affected areas. Silver sulfadiazine a white cream used to cover burns is typically used to prevent and treat wound infections in patients with second- and third-degree burns. Often times the burn wound is left open to the air. This is my educated guess. Burns are painful and easily infected. I hope Leonor's hand heals quickly without too much discomfort.

Wishing the queen a speedy recovery and hope no one else comes down with Covid in the family!

I agree that it looks like she burned herself. I got similar burns in the same area on my fingers a few years ago when I got distracted while cooking and they were very sore for quite a long time. Then one did get infected and took forever to fully heal. Good times. Hopefully Leonor has a quicker recovery.

The queen's 50th Birthday is fast approaching and I doubt we'll see any Family celebration or invited guests.

Hopefully Letizia will be afforded a slice of cake to mark the milestone.

And likely no exhibtion or Interview to mark that milestone.
Perhaps she will get a special Order from her husband like the collar of the Carlos III, which she hasn't yet if i remember right.

I doubt there will be anything ,not even a much needed new photo.
The Spanish RF are reluctant to have any such celebrations as we see in other monarchies.

I hope they release new official photos of Queen Letizia. But it would be nice if she gave an interview to set the date, but that's certainly not going to happen.

I think they will at least do some pictures. They did a lot of pictures on the 40th birthday, and a magazine got access to the inner circle to do a feature 'generation Letizia', well known women who turned 40 too.
Well, these women will turn now 50, too.
I guess they will do something similar since 50 is more of a mile stone than 40.
