No, her name is Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano. The issue of the Borbón y Ortiz / Borbón-Ortiz was raised a few weeks ago, when somebody said she would have the Ortiz linked to Borbón, because the mother doesn't belong to a royal family... but I actually did never read anything about it, so that's why I am asking, since I didn't read any article quoting the whole name either...

Queen Sofia has not taken to its granddaughter to the baptismal battery, like Queen Victoria Eugenia made with Infante Felipe, because of the liturgy reforms, Jaime Peñafiel said, amen

A
s for another topic, the people who creates these polemics only have bad intentions, only they want to create polemics, to speak about them during the whole week in their programs of television and to gain hearing and money. There is all the same to them the act, a baptism, a wedding or a funeral ... they are very disrespectful.
You are absolutely right lula, as always :)!

Lets not fuel this bad feelings. They were wrong in the past, they will be wrong in the future and people will see that and stop paying attention to them.

To see a picture like this, with Leonor looking and smilling adoringly to her mum like she was saying - Don't worry Mum, I will behave, you will shine, don't worry, Dad is here, Grandma is here, if you have a question ask Grandpa, If you feel insecure look to Dad - don't you worry, I even brought the toughest Knights of the Kingdom...

Each of these images brought to us by you and other neutral :p royal watchers speak for itself! This was a Christening full of Symbolism! As it should be...

I wish you all a great weekend!!!!

Regards,
mtbcm :)

In case of the Infantas always it has been like that, so some reason will be ... and already if Peñafiel does not criticize and explains it that it owes, we can speak about a miracle. :p Sure that he was going to criticize it and he will have asked before some priest not to stay in ridiculously.

Oh, thank you very much, fanletizia! If Jaime Peñafiel says so, then I'm much more relieved

Wow, look at that: http://www.20minutos.es/especial/4/p...zia/embarazada

So many articles and pictures! The little Infanta is extremely beautiful, like a little angel. I still don't know if she looks more like Prince Felipe or more like Princess Letizia. I read somewhere she had her Grandpa Ortiz nose...I don't know. Anyway she was so sweet during the baptism, I loved when she opened her eyes, took a look around, closed them, slept a little, then again opened her eyes:)

There is another thing that can influence. Former, the babies were baptized with a few days, at least in case of Spain. There was many infantile mortality and because of it they were baptized soon, even the same day in which they were born. For example, the Prince Felipe was baptized with 8 days. I imagine that for the women who have just given to light it was more comfortable that the godmother was holding the baby during the ceremony.
Today in day the babies are baptized by several months and the mothers are more recovered.

...

To the curiosity of if they would travel soon to Covadonga, Letizia Ortiz confirmed that they would go, but "we do not know when".

Don Felipe carried out an anecdote that made smile to all. He believed to understand that an informer asked to him for when the second son and very solved answered that "naturally" they will be put to it.
...

Calm, with the calm voice, the Prince carried out the reading of Ezequiel prophet.

That episode has now become an anecdote...

http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/8152...eonor/Letizia/

The most spontaneous episode had Prince Felipe as the protagonist. During a brief informal meeting with the journalists, just before the baptism and after the official photos, Don Felipe was asked if Leonor would have only one name. As did not hear it well, he thought they were asking him about the number of children. "No, we will have many more" he said!

Apparently the same “deafness” the heir accused on the day of his sister’s engagement (when he was asked about his own wedding) has served now to show that he has changed his plans and surpassed the expectations… Perhaps now he wants to have "more than four and less than ten".

the Canadian media usually has good coverage of world news (esp. compared to the US media). The wedding of Felipe and Letizia was reported here, as well as the birth of Leonor. I also remember, way before I became interested in royalty, the weddings of Haakon/Mette-Marit and Infanta Cristina were also covered here.
Infact the only place I was able to catch anything on the christening was on canadian tv, I looked through some French, Italian, and BBC newsreports but couldnt find anything.

Can someone give me an English translation of Felipe saying Letizia "esta haciendo pesas" -- is it like "she is carrying all the weight [of the baby]"? I'd appreciate it.

And heartfelt thanks to all of you who have posted pictures and elaborated with commentary on the baptism. As with all this couple does, I thought the baptism once again demonstrated elegance and class -- they are a dear little family.

Literally, it means "she is doing weights". It's equivalent to the English expression "she is weight-lifting"
