The 2005 UN World Summit dinner is tonight. Around 175 world leaders will be in attendance. The summit starts tomorrow and is being called the biggest gathering of world leaders in history.
I guess that makes it THE place to be seen and heard.

Thanks for the pictures and articles. I think I prefer King Abdullah II without his beard. It makes him look older.

Teens impressed with Jordan's king
by Paula Amann
News Editor
A handful of Jewish day school students was among 20 area teens of varied faiths who met with Jordan's King Abdullah Tuesday.
The Mideast monarch brought a simple but challenging message, said Silver Spring's David Rubinstein, 16.
"If we improve the relationships between youth of different religious groups, then, as opposed to judging a religion by stereotypes, we'll be judging it by people we know," said Rubinstein, restating the king's argument.
The youth, the treasurer of student affairs at the Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy, joined four other student leaders from the Rockville school at Tuesday's half-hour meeting. Also at the meeting were teens from the Saudi Academy of Alexandria, Francis L. Cardoza High School in the District and Benjamin Banneker High School, which hosted the gathering.

UN World Summit Group photo (From Infofoto Brunei)
King Abdullah is in the third row. Quite a few other royals there too, King of Spain, Sultan of Brunei, Prince Albert of Monaco etc.
This is a huge pic so if you're seeing a reduced version, click on it once or twice and it'll get bigger.
