Heavy schedule, huh? Not that I worry:I'm 100% sure that Salma will cover the whole visit.Salma, are you ready?

Will this be an interview or a dokumentation? Can we see it via Internet?
This is a documentary, at the Portuguese version of the Biography Channel (cable network).

Has King Abdullah ever been to Portugal?
The Portuguese President visited Jordan for the first time, in February 2008... the royal couple is now paying back the visit. The Jordanian retenue includes several members of the government and Jordanian businessmen.

I can't wait for the gala, at the Palace of Ajuda. It will certainly be grand :)

I don't understand why she has won this award. She might have helped improve North-South relations, but I don't know what specific actions she's taken to advance human rights. Can anyone explain, because nothing jumps to my mind.

:previous: I join you're opinion here,Rania might be a good first lady and good image for her coutry but an award for human rights!!!give me a break, her coutry still receive alot of critic from the Human Rights Watch.

I don't understand why she has won this award. She might have helped improve North-South relations, but I don't know what specific actions she's taken to advance human rights.
The Prize distinguishes two persons each year (one from the North and other from the South), who stand out for their work in protecting human rights and/or strengthening North-South relations. In 2008, Rania had been particularly vocal about the importance of cross cultural and interfaith dialogue to foster greater understanding, tolerance and acceptance across the world.
From the CV I posted above:

Cross-cultural dialogue: In March 2008, Queen Rania launched her own YouTube channel to dispel stereotypes about the Arab and Muslim worlds. She also campaigned for a greater understanding between cultures in such high profile forums as the Jeddah Economic Forum, the Sorbonne, the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and the Skoll Foundation in the UK.

Working internationally: Queen Rania has worked with many international organizations and forums such as: UNICEF, International Youth Foundation, World Economic Forum, Forum of Young Global Leaders, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Hans Christian Andersen abc-Foundation, United Nations Foundation, Arab Women Labor Affairs Committee of the Arab Labor Organization, Operation Smile and Arab International Women’s Forum.

We're not going to start off this thread with an argument.

I'm sure the European Council on Human Rights is a better judge of who gets the award than anyone of us, unless ofcourse some of us are members of the Council!
