Thanks for the photos! I wonder if Hashem was pulling a face at his big sister?! Princess Iman looks like quite the athlete, it seems like she's following in her Aunt Haya's footsteps!

Fitness rewarded

. . . The event, held under the patronage of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania, honoured students who took part in the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness Programme and achieved high marks during the evaluation stages.

The programme also honoured schools that won first place and members of the Award Central Committee.

Some 153,000 students from 711 schools took part in this Royal initiative, which seeks to encourage youth to become more physically active and lead healthier lifestyles.

. . . The award was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and under the supervision of the Royal Health Awareness Society, a nonprofit organisation established under the direction of Queen Rania. Jordan Times

Lovely pictures from this year's awards. Prince Hashem is mischievious as ever. Princess Iman doing gymnastics is very impressive, she received an award last year as well, she has probably been training for a couple of years now.
Remember this picture from a little over 3 years ago:

This is obviously something she enjoys doing.

She seems to be turning in to a real beauty as well. The closeups of her face really show that she's going to grow up to be a beautiful woman. I think tall too.. like QR.

I liked the "action" photos of Princess Iman. Does anyone know if her other siblings play sports too?

I did laugh when I read the title of this thread. As anyone with eyes in their head can see that over the years, King Abdullah has been very far from physical fitness, in fact fat. The name of the award is a contradiction and ironic but I am sure not meant to be that way, lol.

QR needs to get her hair cut. It is too long for a woman near 40 and would look better shorter than it is.

Princess Iman looks like a blond version of her mother.

yes ... they did ... i saw the event on tv.:)

It's great that Princess Iman has become a regular participant at this event.
Prince Hashem is so cute, his hair is getting darker, too bad he didn't make any faces this year!

Students, schools awarded for ‘physical fitness’

AMMAN - Winners of the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness were honoured on Sunday by Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania at Prince Hamzah Hall, Al Hussein Sports City.

The event honoured students who took part in the King Abdullah II Award for Physical Fitness Programme and achieved high marks during the evaluation stages.

. . . The award was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and under the supervision of the Royal Health Awareness Society, a non-profit organisation established under the directives of Queen Rania.

Launched in September 2005, the programme seeks to promote health awareness among a wider public, focusing on comprehensive access to information, and helps raise healthy and socially responsible citizens. Jordan Times

Do many schools in Jordan have a physical education aka P.E. program as part of their curriculum?

Do many schools in Jordan have a physical education aka P.E. program as part of their curriculum?

I know i most Middle Eastern & Gulf countries PE is on the curriculum from grade 1 to grade 12 (high school) So I would say Jordan is the same since 90% of the schools are about the same in the region. Also, it was mentioned that King Abdullah's children went to an American school, which they have a few in the region and people I know whos children do attened do have PE.
