Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit held a dinner at Skaugum yesterday evening. They invited this years winners and former winners of the business peace prize – Oslo Business for Peace Award. They also invited a few local and international business leaders that contribute to to the Norwegian Foundation for Peace. The awards will be held today at the Oslo City Hall.

Many royals gathered on Tuesday evening in Oslo to celebrate King Harald V and Queen Sonja’s 80th birthday. During the gala dinner, Crown Prince Haakon snuck out to shave off his beard. It must have kept a few guests wondering whether he had a beard or not! Apparently he did it for a good laugh during the evening.

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway joined about 30,000 cross country skiers in Norway’s oldest race named Birkebeinerrennet. The event kicked off this morning at 8:30am Norwegian time and the distance race was 54km. One rule of the race is that all participants must carry a backpack with 3.5kg on their backs during the race.
