Luxembourg’s Princess Tessy is currently in Durban, South Africa for the 2016 International AIDS Conference. Today she attended a lunch with United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, alongside Princess Sikhanyiso of Swaziland, eldest daughter of King Mswati III. They had earlier visited a wellness clinic that provides assistance to sex workers in Durban who have HIV. Tessy described the clinic’s workers as “incredibly strong women”.

The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg has announced this morning that Prince Félix and Princess Claire are expecting their second child. The baby is due in the autumn. Following yesterday’s evening events to kick-off National Day, the main events were held today in Luxembourg to mark the occasion. First up was a ceremony at the Salle de concerts Grande-Duchesse Josephine-Charlotte in which awards and honours were presented to citizens of merit. Afterwards was the military parade at Avenue de la Liberté attended by the Grand Ducal and Hereditary Grand Ducal couples. The Te Deum at the Cathédral Notre-Dame followed, as per tradition.
