Princess Benedikte Returns To Work After Prince Richard’s Death

Princess Benedikte of Denmark has returned to official engagements following the death of her husband, Prince Richard of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, last month. She attended a board meeting of the Queen Ingrid Honorary Grant at the restaurant Nimb in Tivoli on Thursday. It was attended by five other members of the board. The meeting was the Princess’s first public engagement since Prince Richard’s death on March 14.

Légion d’honneur Bestowed Upon Danish Princess Marie

Denmark’s French-born Princess, Marie, was today bestowed the Légion d’honneur in a ceremony at the French Embassy in Copenhagen. The French Ambassador to Denmark, François Zimeray, presented the Princess with the insignia of the Légion d’honneur, class Grand Officer. The order is the highest French order of merit, awarded for military and civil merits. Frederik And Haakon Join 30,000 Skiers In Norway

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway joined about 30,000 cross country skiers in Norway’s oldest race named Birkebeinerrennet. The event kicked off this morning at 8:30am Norwegian time and the distance race was 54km. One rule of the race is that all participants must carry a backpack with 3.5kg on their backs during the race.
