State Visit from France to the Netherlands: Last Day

The second and last day of the State Visit from France started today, Wednesday April 12, with separate agenda for the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the First Lady, Brigitte Macron.
In the morning King Willem-Alexander and the President paid a visit to the Faculty of Science of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). There they toured the Quantum Gases & Quantum Information Lab to be informed about quantum technology, semiconductors and photonics. Then the King and the President attended a roundtable discussion along with Dutch and French CEOs, scientists and investors about “sovereignty in technology”.
In the meantime Queen Maxima and the First Lady paid a visit to the MIND Us Foundation. The Queen is honorary president of the foundation that aims ” to improve the mental health of young people”. During the visit at the fundation the Queen and the First Lady attended a meeting focused “about the mental health of young people in the Netherlands and the objectives and approach of MIND Us”.
Afterwards Queen Máxima accompanied the First Lady for a visit to the Anne Frank House, a Museum dedicated to the Jewish diarist that was persecuted by the Nazi with her family during the Second World War.
They made a tour of the Museum and the First Lady signed the guest book.
In the afternoon the President had several institutional meeting while the Queen and the First Lady paid a visit to Keukenhof, one of the world’s largest flower gardens.
In the evening the Royal Couple accompanied the Presidential Couple at the Rijksmuseum to visit the Vermeer exhibition. Mark Rutte, the Dutch Prime Minister, was present as well.
The visit ended with a dinner during a canal cruise.
