Dutch State Visit to the Slovak Republic: Day Two

Today, Wednesday March 8, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima started their second day in Slovakia by attending a discussion at the presence of Slovak youth held at the National Gallery and focused on gender equality and women’s emancipation on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová, was present as well.
Then the Royal Couple moved to the Bratislava Castle where they met with Boris Kollár, Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
Afterwards the King and the Queen went to the Business Service Center Forum to attend a forum titled ‘”The future is now” at the presence of Dutch and Slovak innovative entrepreneurs. Following the forum they were present at a demonstration about circulair economy.
At lunchtime the Royal Couple attended a government lunch hosted by the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger.
In the afternoon the King and the Queen paid a visit to the LGBTIQ+ café Tepláreň where last October two people were shot dead in front of this cafe because of their sexual orientation.
Later the Royal Couple attended a reception for the Dutch community living in Slovakia.
In the evening the King and the Queen hosted a reception at the
National Theater in honor of President Čaputová and her partner Juraj Rizman. They attended a concert by trumpeter Eric Vloeimans with Juan Pablo Dobal, Oliver’s Cinema and Holland Baroque.
