The Princess of Asturias Award 2022
Today, Friday October 28, at around noon, Their Majesties King Felipe and Queen Letizia, along with the Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia, attended several audiences at the Hotel de la Reconquista in Oviedo, prior to the ceremony of the Princess of Asturias Awards.
The King, the Queen, the Princess and the Infanta met with the winners of the 2022 Asturias Medals, the winners of the “End of Career 2021” awards from the University of Oviedo, and to the presidents of the Juries of the Princess of Asturias Awards, members of the Board of Trustees and patrons emeritus and the recipients of the 2022 Princess of Asturias Awards.
In late afternoon Their Majesties King Felipe and Queen Letizia, along with the Princess of Asturias, Infanta Sofia and Queen Sofia, attended the 2022 Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony which was held at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo.
This year’s laureates are: for Arts, Carmen Linares and María Pagés; for Communication and Humanities, Adam Michnik; for Social Sciences, Eduardo Matos Moctezuma; for Technical and Scientific Research, Geoffrey Hinton, Yann LeCun, Yoshua Bengio and Demis Hassabis; for Sport, the Refugee Olympic Foundation and Team; for Literature, Juan Mayorga; for International Cooperation, Ellen MacArthur; and for the Concord Award, Shigeru Ban.
