Belgian King and Queen Visit the Province of Limburg
Today, Wednesday June 22, Their Majesties King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid a visit to the Province of Limburg.
The first stop was in the municipality of Borgloon where the Royal Couple paid a visit to BelOrta, a cooperative of fresh fruits and vegetables. The King and the Queen, along with Dirk Bertels, chairman of BelOrta, toured the headquarter of the cooperative and were informed about the supply and quality control of the fruit.
Then the Royal Couple moved to the municipality of Kortessem where they paid a visit to De Wroeter, a social organization that, since 1982, offers activities, training or jobs in the fields of production and sale of handicrafts, organic horticulture and fruit growing, maintenance of green spaces and catering to people from disadvantaged groups or with disabilities. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde toured the oganization’s bakery, kitchen, greenhouses and agricultural store.
The visit ended in the municipality of Bilzen where the Royal Couple greeted the people gathered in the Market square, then they were received in the City Hall.
