On Thursday November 18, in the evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Royal Variety Performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Upon the arrival at the venue, the Duke and the Duchess were welcomed by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant Colonel Jane Davis, chairman of the Royal Variety charity Giles Cooper and life-president Laurie Mansfield.
The Performance this year was hosted by comedian Alan Carr and among the performers there were Ed Sheeran, Rod Stewart, James Blunt, and the casts of Moulin Rouge: The Musical, Matilda: The Musical, and Cirque du Soleil.
The Duke and the Duchess met with the performers.
For the occasion the Duchess of Cambridge wore a sequin floor-length green gown by Jenny Packham previously worn in October 2019 during the official visit to Pakistan. She paired the gown with matched shoes and clutch and chandelier hoop earrings by Missoma.
The Royal Variety Performance is a live variety show held annually to raise money for the Royal Variety Charity, of which Queen Elizabeth II is life-patron. Held for the first time on 1 July 1912 at the presence of King George V and Queen Mary, the Royal Variety Performance this year marks one hundred years of Patronage from the reigning Monarch.
