King Philippe and Queen Mathilde Receive Belgian Athletes

On Friday October 29, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde received several Belgian athletes who have achieved a top performance between 2020 and 2021.

The reception took place the Castle of Laeken where the Royal Couple greeted all the athletes of the Olympic and Paralympic Teams that competed at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo and athletes who won a medal at a European Championship or World Cup.

The Belgian Olympic team won 7 medals in Tokyo: three gold, one silver and three bronze; the Belgian Paralympics team won 15 medals in Tokyo: four gold, three silver and eight bronze.
