Queen Mathilde Visits The UN House In Brussels
As an Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), today, Thursday September 23, Her Majesty Queen Mathilde paid a visit to the headquarters of the UN House in Brussels where she was welcomed by Camilla Brückner, Director of the UN/UNDP Office in Brussels.
Along with the representatives of these organizations, the Queen attended several meetings focused on importance of international cooperation to achieve the SDGs, the main priorities of the UN and the challenges following the coronavirus.
Queen Mathilde also virtually visited the United Nations Office in Monrovia, in Liberia, and met with the UN Country Team. Via video conference the Queen had a meeting with Niels Scott, the UN Resident Coordinator and young Liberian girls and youth. With them Queen Mathilde talked about mental health, human rights, adolescent health, teenage pregnancies, substance abuse and was informed about the work of the UN in Liberia.
