The Dutch Royal Family has celebrated Koningsdag 2021, the celebration of the monarch’s birthday, in Eindhoven, in the province of North Brabant. Due to the coronavirus outbreak the audience wasn’t present and the festivities for the King’s birthday were different from the previous years.
The Royal Couple and the Princesses arrived at the Campus by cars: the King and the Princess of Orange arrived in a DAF kini while the Queen with Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane arrived in a high-tech Lightyear. At the Campus the Royal family was welcomed by John Jorritsma, mayor of Eindhoven, and, through big screens via a video connection, by the residents of the city. Inside the studio of the Campus the Royal Couple and the Princesses took part in a special live-streamed TV quiz show about the Brainport-Eindhoven region. Then the Princesses attended a talk show about music and identity in the Orange Room and virtually raced against each other in a Formula 1 car in the Zandvoort circuit.
