King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attend “King Games”

Today, Friday April 23, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima were present at the launch of the 9th edition of the “King Games” at the Kindcentrum Vlinderslag school in Amersfoort.
Theme of this edition was: “I + you = we”. Due to the coronavirus the program took place outdoors and the traditional breakfast was cancelled. In the schoolyard the King and the Queen, along with the children, took part in a quiz about healthy eating and exercise. During the event, the children’s choir “Children for Children” performed their hit Zij aan Zij aan Zij.
This year nearly 1.3 million children from more than 6,300 schools partecipated in the King’s Games.
“King Games” are organized by Krajicek Foundation and Cruyff Foundation and took place for the first time in 2013 as part of the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander.
“King Games” are a sporty initiative for all primary school students in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
The purpose of the “King Games” is to promote an healthy and sporting society.
