The Earl and Countess of Snowdon to divorce
On February 17, it was announced that the Earl and Countess of Snowdon are to divorce after having already lived separately for a few years. The news comes just a week after it was announced that Autumn and Peter Phillips had also divorced.
The couple’s spokesperson said “the Earl and Countess of Snowdon have amicably agreed that their marriage has come to an end and that they shall be divorced.
They ask that the press respect their privacy and that of their family.”
The then Viscount Linley married Serena Stanhope at St. Margaret’s Church in Westminster, London. The couple have two children; Charles Armstrong-Jones (b. 1999) and Margarita Armstrong-Jones (b. 2002).
It is said that the couple drifted apart due to David’s job as he was posted abroad regularly. They are based in London and Gloucestershire in the UK.
David owns a high-end furniture company, Linley’s, and is also the chair of European, Middle Eastern and Russian relations of Christie’s Auction. He has a keen interest in interior design and has decorated a number of exclusive properties in the UK. Serena had her own store, Serena Linley Provence, though the store closed in 2014. Their daughter Margarita was a bridesmaid at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011.Filed under The United Kingdom
