Death of Princess Christina of the Netherlands

Her Royal Highness Princess Christina of the Netherlands, aged 72, died this morning, Friday August 16, at the Noordeinde Palace complex in The Hague.
Princess Christina has been suffering from bone cancer for several years.
Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima and Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrix have announced the death:
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear sister and aunt. Christina had a striking personality and a warm heart. With her passion for music and her talent, she managed to touch a lot of people. We will cherish our many beautiful memories.”
Princess Christina was born on February 18, 1947 at Soestdijk Palace in Baarn, the fourth daughter of Queen Juliana and Prince Bernhard.
In 1975 she married Jorge Guillermo and they had three children: Bernardo, Nicolás and Juliana. They divorced in 1996.
Princess Christina’s body will be transferred to the Cupola of Fagel on the grounds of Noordeinde Palace where the family can say their farewells and the cremation will also take place in private.
