Funeral of the Count of Paris in Dreux

On February 2; it was the funeral Prince Henri, Count of Paris at the royal chapel in Dreux, the official burial site of members of the Orleanist royal family. The Count passed away on 21 January before he was due to attend the memorial mass for Louis XVI of France in Paris.

His wife was unable to attend. The countess of Paris was hospitalized earlier this week. His four surviving children were all present: Princess Marie of Liechtenstein, her husband Prince Gundekar and their children, Princess Blanche, the Duke and Duchess of Angouleme and their children Therese and Pierre and the Duke and Duchess of Vendôme and their children. The late count’s ex-wife the Duchess of Montpensier also attended the funeral.

Attending the funeral from the reigning families were Crown Prince Moulay Hassan of Morocco, Prince Albert II of Monaco, former Queen Sofia of Spain, the Duke and Duchess of Castro and their daughters, Princess Lea of Belgium, Princess Sybilla of Luxembourg, and Prince Philipp and Princess Isabelle of Liechtenstein.

Aside from the Duke of Vendome, those attending from the non reigning families of Europe are the Count of La Marche and his mother, the Duke of Castro and his family, Grand Duke George of Russia, Prince Charles-Emmanuel and Princess Constance of Bourbon-Parma, Prince Aloys-Konstantin of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, Archduke Karl of Austria, Archduke Georg of Austria, the Prince of Venice, the Duke and Duchess of Orléans, the Count and Countess of Évreux, Princess Hélène, Princess Diane and Chantal of France, the duke of Anjou and his wife the Duchess of Cadaval and Prince Leka of Albania.

Amongst the nobility, Princess Tatiana Radziwill and her husband, Alvaro-Jaime de Orléans-Borbón y Parodi-Delfino and his wife were also there.

This morning it was also announced that the Duke of Vendome will assume the title of Count of Paris.
