On September 25, the Duchess of Sussex took part in her first solo engagement at an exhibition showcasing artwork from the Oceania region at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Various pieces of art from Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia were on display at the exhibition, which was held a month ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tour to the Fiji Islands and Tonga.

The Royal Academy of Arts was founded in 1768 and the exhibition was also held to mark the institution’s two hundredth and fiftieth anniversary.

Ngāti Rānana, a Māori cultural group based in London, also held a short performance during the exhibition.
