The Endeavour Fund Awards honouring wounded servicemen and women who have achieved sporting and adventure successes were presented on Thursday evening at the Goldsmiths’ Hall in London, with Prince Harry and his fiancee Meghan Markle in attendance.

Harry and Meghan, following a reception with the nominees, each took to the stage during the ceremony to present an award. Meghan, who said she was “privileged” to be at the event, presented the Celebrating Excellence Award to  Daniel Claricoates for his summits of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Vinson, as a way to conquer his PTSD from several tours in Afghanistan. Her presentation didn’t go as smoothly as it could, as her co-presenter was unable to locate the list of nominees for the award and the pair spent about thirty seconds shuffling through papers on the podium.

Prince Harry then presented the Henry Worsley Award to Sean Gane for “overcoming serious injuries to take on a dog-sledding expedition to Sweden”. The Prince said in his speech that he was “continually amazed by the tenacity, fortitude and unshakable humour” shown by the servicemen and women who take part in adventure challenges, and said that they were “truly awesome and society needs every single one of you, and it’s up to every single one of us in this room to provide those opportunities for you.””
