A New Stamp For The Spanish King’s Fiftieth Birthday

The national postal service of Spain, Correos, has released a new stamp to mark King Felipe VI’s fiftieth birthday at the end of the month.

The 1€ stamp bears a new portrait of the King, and will be available for purchase from January 30th, the King’s birthday. There will be 200,000 sheets of the stamp printed.

King Felipe was born on January 30th, 1968, the youngest child and only son of the then Prince Juan Carlos and Princess Sofia. He married Letizia Ortiz in 2004, with whom he has two daughters, Leonor and Sofia. He ascended the Spanish throne in June 2014.
