Prince Jigme Namgyel Steals The Show During Official Visit to India
At a mere 20 months, Bhutan’s Prince Jigme Namgyel has shown himself to be a budding diplomat, as he charmed his way through India’s political leaders this week while accompanying his parents, King Jigme Khesar and Queen Jestun Pema, on an official visit to the country.
The little Prince – dressed in a traditional Bhutanese gho – calmly held hands with the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj upon the family’s arrival to the airport in New Dehli on Tuesday, even following her lead in waving at the press pack.
Over the following days, Prince Jigme also met India’s President, Ram Nath Kovind, who gifted him with a basket of toys, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from whom the toddler received a football and a chess set.
Already a favourite with royal watchers, the youngster has won over more fans during this trip!
