The Duchess of Cambridge stuck to her tried and tested ‘navy and cream for anything sailing related’ theory today as she paid a visit to the Land Rover BAR 1851 Trust Roadshow at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre in London.

Donning a pair of navy blue cropped trousers that flared out at the hem from J. Crew and a white shirt and Zara blazer, Catherine spent time with pupils from four East London schools that attended the roadshow workshop, which are designed to encourage school children to take interest in the science, technology, engineering and maths subjects, by relating them to sailing and sustainability.

She spoke to them about their interest in sailing, and participated in an educational treasure hunt as well as class activities to learn about the effects of plastic pollution on oceans and marine life. Chatting to some of the students who were later in the day scheduled for watersport activities, Kate joked that “I hope you don’t end up swimming.”

Catherine is the patron of the 1851 Trust.
