Qatari and British Royals Attend Gas Plant Opening
On Tuesday The Emir of Qatar, H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and his wife H H Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned attended the opening ceremony of the South Hook Terminal for Liquefied Natural Gas in Wales in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
The South Hook terminal is a technological milestone as part of the Qatargas 2 LNG value chain project. It will make additional supplies of cleaner-burning natural gas available to the UK and Europe.
Speaking on the occasion, the Emir welcomed Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and the attending guests saying “to join us in celebrating this historic occasion which is highly significant to our two countries.”
In Queen Elizabeth’s address she highlighted the importance of working together in bilateral partnershipas well as what was being celebrated was a good example of partnership between Qatar and Britian which are working together to achieve common goals.
After the opening ceremony, H H Sheikha Mozah and Queen Elizabeth toured the exhibition which displayed images of the plant, industrial and economic side of Qatar as well as Qatar’s achievements.Qatar, The United Kingdom
