The Princess Royal Attends WRNS Benevolent Trust AGM

At the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm Museum in Somerset on Friday May 5, the Princess Royal was present at the Annual General Meeting of the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) Benevolent Trust.

The WRNS Benevolent Trust was founded in April 1942 with the-then Queen Elizabeth as Patron and Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent as President. The aim of the WRNS Benevolent Trust is to “provide relief in cases of necessity or distress” to its members, women who served in the Women’s Royal Naval Service and then the Royal Navy.

Princess Anne has been Patron of the organisation since 2002; previously she was their Commandant and President from 1974.
