A court in Palma de Mallorca has decided that Iñaki Urdangarín will be allowed to continue living in Switzerland with his family until the conclusion of the appeal process against the guilty verdict he was handed last week in the Nóos corruption case.

Iñaki is required to meet with local authorities on the first day of each month and inform the court if he changes residence at any time. He will not have to pay the €200,000 bail the prosecutors had asked for in order to not go to prison immediately.

The appeal process, which goes before the Supreme Court, could take up to a year, adding to the already long-running saga this case has become.
