As their Chancellor, the Duchess of Cornwall – known as the Duchess of Rothesay whilst in Scotland – paid a visit to the University of Aberdeen on Wednesday.

The purpose of her visit was to officially open the new Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health centre at the university’s Medical School Campus. The Institute focuses on research into nutrition and food. The Duchess, donning a white lab coat, was shown around the new facilities and shown the latest technologies researchers use to investigate a number of aspects related to links between food and health. She was given the recipe for a health Scotch pie, to which she asked if it tasted as good as the real thing, before taste testing some broccoli crisp bread.

During the visit, Camilla also attended a reception for Arthritis Research UK and the National Osteoporosis Society.
