‘Diana: Her Fashion Story’ Exhibition To Be Staged At Kensington Palace in 2017
A new exhibition highlighting the fashion of the late Diana, Princess of Wales will be staged at the Piggott Gallery in Kensington Palace next year. 2017 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Princess’s death.
It has been designed to “trace the evolution of the Princess’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances, to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life”.
Among the outfits that will go on display are the midnight blue velvet Victor Edelstein evening gown worn by Princess Diana for a dinner at the White House in 1985, and a blue tartan suit created by Emanuel that was worn during a visit to Italy in 1985.
The exhibition will open to the public on February 24, while a ‘White Garden’ will be created by the Kensington Palace gardeners to coincide with the spring and summer seasons, made up of “flowers and foliage inspired by memories of the Princess’s life, image and style”.Filed under The United Kingdom
