Frederik & Mary Celebrate ‘Copper’ Wedding Anniversary With Early Morning Wake-Up Call
Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary today celebrate their ‘copper’ wedding anniversary – 12 and half years – and as per Danish tradition, the couple were awoken bright and early this morning by their family and friends
The Danish Royal Court released a photo of the pair in the doorway of their Amalienborg home, smiling as they greeted those who came out to start the day’s celebrations (two of the couple’s four children, Prince Christian and Princess Josephine, are also visible in the photo). In another tradition, a shield above the wreath-edged door bears the date and the length of time Frederik and Mary have been married.
A few new portraits of the Prince and Princess were also released to mark the occasion.
Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were married on May 14, 2004 at the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen.
