William, Kate and Harry Ride The London Eye For Mental Health Day

To mark World Mental Health Day, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Prince Harry have taken a ride on the London Eye with charities involved with their mental health initiative Heads Together.

As their pod made its rotation, Prince Harry jokingly kept an eye out for Buckingham Palace – to check if his grandmother as at home or not (unfortunately the Royal Standard was not flying at the time, indicating the Queen was not in residence).

Earlier in the day, the royal trio attended a reception at County Hall for people involved with a number of mental health charities, with a special focus on individuals and the persons who have helped them seek mental health aid.

They delivered a joint speech, calling on everyone to get involved with mental health so that those suffering from it do not feel they have to do so in silence or by themselves, that they will have a support system.

The Duke implored that “mental health is not a dirty word – we all have mental health like we do physical health, good or ill.  But not seeking help at those times when it all seems too much, or we are depressed or anxious, can impact the rest of our lives,” while Kate – who wore pale pink rose printed chiffon dress from designer Kate Spade for the outing – said that “all of us know someone who has been through difficult emotional times.”

Prince Harry finished off with, “All of us have mental health. So the more we all get behind this topic, the more we can help not just the individuals suffering, but also their entire families and work colleagues as well. Together we will break the stigma forever and save lives.”
