Queen Maxima Replaces Princess Beatrix At A Congress In Rotterdam

Since Princess Beatrix is still recovering from a knee surgery, Queen Maxima has replaced the former Queen at the opening of the fifth European Nursing Congress at the congress center De Doelen in Rotterdam, today Tuesday, October 4.

The congress entitled, “Caring for Older People: How Can We Do the Right Things Right?” is organized by the European Nursing Congress Foundation. The congress is focused on nursing care and how nurses role are important to manage the health issues of elderly people. Opened to nurses and carers, researchers, teachers, nursing home physicians, board members and managers of care institutions, the congress aims to stress the importance of prevention, homecare, hospital care, long-term care, mental health, rehabilitation and transitional care.

During the event Queen Maxima talked with members of the foundation and participants.
The congress will last until Friday October 7.
