Crown Princess Mary at WHO Europe 66th Regional Committee Meeting
Over the past two days, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has attended the 66th Regional Committee Meeting of World Health Organisation Europe which is being held in Copenhagen this year.
Mary gave the opening address of the meeting yesterday, in which she discussed WHO’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the theme of the meeting, and the need to have equality for both sexes: “Girls and women are key to building healthy, prosperous and sustainable societies and communities…Our ability to achieve truly transformative change and results across all 17 goals is dependent on the realization of gender equality and significant progress for girls and women.”
Later in the day, Mary joined the Danish for Health and the Elderly for a reception at the Louisiana Art Museum. Today the Princess attended the official reception hosted by WHO at the Copenhagen Opera House.
