Queen Rania of Jordan stopped by the Amman Stadium today to visit the training session of the country’s Under 17s Women’s National Football Team, who are currently preparing for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup that is going to be hosted in Jordan in September and October.

The Queen wished the team well for the tournament, which is the first tournament of its kind to be hosted in the Middle East.

The team’s captain, Luna Sahloul, spoke of the team’s “appreciation for Queen Rania’s efforts in advancing the standing of women and girls in Jordan” and are looking forward to using the championship as “an opportunity to contribute to the success and achievements of Jordanian women.”
