William and Kate Cheer on Land Rover BAR During Portsmouth Leg of America’s Cup World Series
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge watched on from the choppy waters as the Land Rover BAR team led by Sir Ben Ainslie took home the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series Portsmouth title for the second year in a row, and placed themselves on top of the leaderboard for the overall World Series.
William and Kate – both wearing official team shirts and jumpers – then presented the team with the winner’s trophy in front of a rapturous crowd.
Earlier in the day, the couple had met with teenagers learning about sailing through the 1851 Trust, of which Kate is patron, and were given a tour of the Land Rover BAR boat shed where they were told about the different technologies that go into creating the yachts.
