King Felipe Marks 50 Years of Helicopter Units in Spanish Military
The King of Spain has helped mark the 50th anniversary of helicopter units in the country’s armed forces in a ceremony at the Coronel Maté Base in Madrid. Fuerzas Aeromóviles del Ejército de Tierra (Airmobile Armed Forces – FAMET) was established on July 10, 1965 and has evolved since.
After inspecting a guard of honour, King Felipe presented the Coronel Maté award to the Brotherhood of FAMET Veterans. He also viewed an exhibition put together on the history of the units.Filed under Spain
